Patents on Covid-19 vaccines: A need for state intervention?

Veröffentlicht von am 7.06.2021, 17:11 | Kommentar

It is no secret that not all countries are created equal when it comes to access to Covid-19 vaccines. This threatens economic security and the fundamental right to health for millions, if not billions of people.

Should governments therefore restrict patents on Covid-19 vaccines to try to increase production and ensure better access? What are the benefits and disadvantages of such an approach?

These are some of the questions Dr Marvin Bartels, Dr Aisling McMahon (Maynooth University) and Dr Hyo Yoon Kang (Kent University) will discuss in an online panel on Wednesday, 09.06.2021 at 6 pm, moderated by Danielle Brady (European Policy Center).

Amnesty International Passau, the Young European Federalists Passau (JEF) and Sneep Passau invite you to join the discussion and ask questions to the panelists in a Q&A session afterwards!
