Panel Debate: Gender relations in a changing environment (24.11.2022)

We would like to invite you to our panel debate taking place on 24 November 2022, at 6 pm, room SR 002, building ITZ, about “Gender relations in a changing environment“!

The Welcome Centre of the University of Passau, in cooperation with PICAIS and the Graduate Centre, will host its first panel debate under the main topic of “Gender relations in a changing environment“ on 24 November 2022 from 6 to 8 pm, room SR 002, building ITZ, Innstraße 43.

During the panel, we are expecting an interactive dialogue between professors, international post-doctoral researchers as well as doctoral students and candidates who will focus on different aspects of the topic from Feminist Political Ecology, Climate Change and environmental issues to Agriculture as well as activism. Therefore, the event will provide an opportunity to highlight the relationship between gender and the challenges posed by a changing environment. The panel discussion will take place as a hybrid format with a limited number of participants in attendance (ITZ 002) and an unlimited number of virtual participants. Dr. João de Deus Vidal Jr., Postdoctoral Student at the Chair of Physical Geography with a focus on Human-Environment Research at the University of Passau hosts the event.

Our panellists:

  • Prof. Dr. Martina Padmanabhan, Head of the Critical Development Studies Chair with focus on Southeast Asian Studies since 2013, University of Passau, her research focuses on: Comparative Development Studies, Gender Studies, Institutional Analysis, Social-ecological research, Trans- and Interdisciplinarity
  • Siti Maimunah, Doctoral Student at the Chair of Critical Development Studies, University of Passau
  • Afroza Shimu, Doctoral Student at the Chair of Development Economics, University of Passau
  • Udit Sawhney, Doctoral Student at the Chair of Development Economics, University of Passau
