In an increasingly interconnected world, geopolitical developments, cultural interdependencies and global challenges require new forms of leadership and international expertise.

The certificate programme Global Affairs and Intercultural Relations (GAIR) at the University of Passau offers professionals and future leaders the opportunity to strengthen their strategic, intercultural and legal competencies in an international context.

Through an interdisciplinary approach, participants explore key topics such as global trade and governance, international law, negotiation and intercultural management. Academic perspectives are combined with practical insights to provide a comprehensive understanding of today’s global landscape.

A special feature of the programme is the opportunity to engage with experienced experts and distinguished guest lecturers, including senior diplomats from the Federal Foreign Office. In addition, the dedicated Brussels module offers valuable perspectives on European institutions and international decision-making processes.

Beyond academic learning, participants can build a meaningful international network and exchange ideas with professionals from diverse backgrounds.

The programme comprises 10 ECTS credits and follows a hybrid format with on-campus sessions in Passau and Brussels as well as online evening sessions. The next cohort begins from 23–25 October 2026, with applications open until 25 September 2026.
